I love being a mom. I've always taken my job quite seriously and I truly believe it is one of my strongest vocations. I am so proud of my three adult children and the human beings they are. I am so proud of my my precious grandchildren and the loving way they are being raised. Mother's Day brings up a lot of happy and joyous feelings. But, as with all things in life there is a Shadow Side to Mother's Day. For those without a mother, be they not present in body or mind, it is a painful day that reminds us of the emptiness we may feel. We all need mothering. We all need someone who will love us unconditionally and believe in us. I believe in the Village and in Community. I also believe it takes much more to being a mother than just birthing a child. So, with all this in mind I write to you and extend my mother's heart in love and friendship.
I will be a mother to you, when you need one.
Dear Folks who need a mom,
Hit me up. I'm here. It's what I do, and I'm pretty good at it. Not perfect mind you,
but it's better that way. My imperfection will enable you to embrace your own chips and nicks and see how they make you, your own unique, beautiful, and whole self.
I will believe in you completely andI will tell you the truth. You may not like it,
but that's okay. Fact is, my truth may not be your truth. That's okay too. It sets you on your own journey and makes you find YOUR truth. I will hug you or hold your hand or simply sit quietly near and help you feel safe. I will see how amazing you are and I'll tell you what I see. And then, I will let you go, though I may be sad to see you leave, so that you may live the life of your own making. But no worries my dearest. I will be here waiting. Waiting and ready to remind you.
Much love,
Village WiseWoman
